Solutions

Organize your resources by subject area in solutions.

Solutions are designed for specific tasks, projects, or topics within your workspace. A solution is where you can create and utilize various resources. To aid in accomplishing your subject-specific tasks, you can develop forms, reports, insights, and datasets. Collaborate with team members to enhance and share these resources effectively.

Create a solution

You can create solutions from the overview page in a workspace. Go to Home → [Your workspace] → Overview. On this page, you'll find an overview of your solutions in a table. Above this table, you can create a new solution using the Create solution button.

Then give your solution a name and description. Finally, click Create.

Share a solution

You can invite members to collaborate in the solution:

  1. Click on the menu in the top navigation bar ...

  2. Select Share solution

  3. Search and select users or groups

  4. Choose a role for each user:

    • Administrator - can edit/share

    • Member - can only view

  5. (Optional) Add a message

  6. Click Save

Only solution administrators can invite members to the workspace.

Delete a solution

  • Click on the menu in the top navigation bar ...

  • Select Delete solution

Roles and permissions

Members of solutions in the Polyteia Platform can have one of three roles:

  • Administrators have full access to solution specific settings and actions, including editing metadata, inviting users, and managing access.

  • Members can create, manage, and view resources (e.g., datasets, forms, or reports), but cannot manage users or solution settings.

  • Guests (coming soon) have read-only access and cannot make changes.

A solution can have multiple administrators. The creator of a solution is automatically an administrator of the solution.

Best practices

  • Limit administrator access to those who actually need to manage users and settings to avoid unintended changes.

  • Carefully assign members to ensure that only authorized users can create, edit forms and workflows, and view datasets.

  • Use guests for read-only access to avoid unnecessary exposure of sensitive solution data.

To provide a more detailed description and context for the solution, you can set up and regularly update documentation as a solution administrator. Click here for more information.
