Get an overview of the data in columns and rows in the Polyteia Platform.

After uploading a file, the dataset opens in table view. There you can view the raw data, interact with columns, and create insights directly. Think of this like opening a spreadsheet where you can explore and understand your data before analyzing it.

Interactive data exploration

When you click "Explore dataset" from a dataset page, you're taken to the insight editor with your dataset pre-selected. This gives you powerful tools for exploring your data:

Header controls

• Click column names and rename them directly

• Add/remove columns

• Reorder columns

Data display

• Date formatting

• Number formatting

• Null value handling

• Longer content more easily accessible

• Data type indicators

Creating insights directly

After exploring your data, you can seamlessly create insights:

1. Column selection - Choose relevant columns for analysis

2. Filter application - Apply filters that carry forward to insights

3. Data understanding - Use exploration to understand data patterns

4. Insight creation - Click "Create insight" with your pre-configured dataset

Pro tip: Use the exploration features to understand your data structure and quality before creating insights. The filtering and sorting you apply helps identify patterns and potential issues in your dataset.

Accessing exploration features

From dataset overview in solution:

1. Navigate to your dataset: Home → Workspace → Solution → Datasets → [Your Dataset]

2. Click "Explore dataset" to open the interactive explorer

In the insight editor:

1. Start creating a new insight

2. Select your dataset

3. Use the Data explorer for exploration capabilities
