Roles
Learn about the different roles and their permissions.
In the Polyteia Platform, roles are assigned at different levels, including organizations, workspaces, solutions, and individual resources like datasets, insights, and reports. Each object has its own set of roles, allowing users to have varying permissions across different areas. For instance, a user might be an owner of a dataset but only a guest in another workspace.
Roles in organization, workspace, and solution

Administrators manage members and settings within the organization, workspace, or solution. However, they do not automatically have complete control over all contained objects. For this, they need – like all other users – appropriate permissions.
Members create content and take on assigned tasks, but cannot make administrative changes.
Guests (coming soon) have restricted access, usually limited to read access or specific partial functions.
Roles for resources (e.g., datasets, forms, insights, or reports)

Owners have complete control over a resource – including sharing, editing, and deletion.
Editors can edit content, but cannot delete or share it.
Viewers can only view the resource's overview page, but cannot see actual contents or data or make changes.
Custom roles (coming soon)
The Polyteia Platform is working on introducing custom roles, with which organizations can define specific permissions based on their individual requirements. This feature will enable more flexibility in role assignment – without compromising security and control.
Custom roles will be available as an optional add-on for an additional fee. If your organization needs tailored roles, please contact support for more information.
